Living his dream - couchsurfing in Laos

Have you ever been a guest of a soccer player from a champions league team? We have!

In Vientiane we were staying with Ndjoo (Nany). A 27 year old soccer player from Nigeria who is pursuing his dream to become a professional soccer player. He started of his career in a championship league team in Thailand for a couple of years and then switched to Laos for a season. When asking him where the next team will be he said - with a big smile in his face:

I don't know yet maybe Denmark, Germany or Malaysia or somewhere totally else.

We found it impressive how he follows his passion for soccer and doesn't mind moving or traveling around for it at all.

Nany told us that he had an offer by a German soccer team to play for them. He was super happy about it and tried to get a visa for a two months trail session in Germany. But even with having all the papers of his contract, etc. the German government gave him only a visa for two weeks. A period which is not at all enough for a trail session for both sides. Once more it reminded us how lucky we are to have an French and German passport with which it is not difficult to get any kind of visa for any country.

What we shared the most together was food: breakfast, Thai noodle soup, one time he cooked a delicious peanut soup with rice and fish - his mom's recipe- and one time we made sweet and salty crepes after Julie's mom's recipe. What to say!? Delicious food always comes along with wonderful conversation =).
Nany, we wish you all the best for your carrer and hope to see you play in the German or French  championship league one day!!!
