A tour guide in another life - couchsurfing in Thailand

, , No Comments

Qindeel, our couchsurfer in Phuket was amazing! He is living in Thailand since a couple of years and originally he is from Pakistan. His career journey sounds like he has already lived more than one life with only 40. He studied business in Turkey, then worked in the Development sector for for a while in Pakistan, produced some songs and one album on the side, changed into the hotel business, started to establish another company overseas and ended up in Thailand. First he was running a hotel there but then started up a company which is advising people who want to invest into business in Thailand.

What a life!

Besides that he has amazing tour guide skills! We were lucky to arrive on an Saturday evening so he was free the next day and showed us around the beaches, main attractions, nice thai food, bunch of stories, Bangla - night club street, sharing ideas and experiences,  the expat areas, great political discussions, insides into Thai and Pakistani culture and tradition (did you know that every april there is a festival in Thailand on which people just randomly throw buckets and buckets full of water on each other!?).

Both days he made us an amazing breakfast with parotta, toast, spicy mango jam, juice and nice coffee. We took our time quite our time for breakfast as we didn't only eat but also had amazing conversations about Auroville, his life, our studies, political situation of Turkey and Europa and a lot more.

We enjoyed our time together a lot and hope to see each other again sometime soon - maybe even in Pakistan!
