When you are leaving a friend's house or for a trip , etc . in Tamil Nadu people will not just say good bye to you. They say poi vange (come back soon). They just don't want you to go and at the same time it is an invitation to their home which will be always welcoming you.
Around 10 months back we said good bye to our friends and families in France and Germany . 10 months of fun , happiness , weekend travels with friends, (re)building our homes ; shifting and sharing our rooms with different people, learning Reiki, farming and office work, making friends, swimming in the dirty ocean of Pondicherry, learning how to ride a motorbike, driving at 12 o'clock at night to Pondicherry just to have a chai, discussion till long into the night about (different forms of) love, philosophy and our dreams, drawing a mandala on the wall of Austrian pavilion, Thursday evening meditations at the matri mandir amphitheater, chai evenings at Dinesh and going to the cinema to watch Tamil movies without English subtitles.
These 10 months are over now. Both as we are sitting here at the airport we can't image it yet. Just yesterday we were walking with our friend through the streets of Trichy buying some stuff, bargaining with TukTuk drivers, having delicious Indian food and horrible beer and going to the movies to watch a Tamil movie without subtitles and enormous sound volume till 1 o'clock in the morning.
We are grateful for the last 10 months and want to thank you every each of you for the insane time we had.
So we are answering to your poi vange with poi varginren (I'll come back soon)!
